Carbon Steel Buttweld STD ASTM A234 WPB ASME B16.9 – Reducer Concentric
Buttweld Pipe fittings are essential for connecting pipes together and for controlling the flow of fluid through the pipes. There are many different types of buttweld fittings, including elbow fittings, tee fittings, cross fittings, and concentric reducer fittings. Concentric reducer fittings are used to connect two pipes of different diameters. These fittings are often used to connect a smaller pipe to a larger pipe in order to reduce the flow of fluid through the smaller pipe.
The advantages of Buttweld Fittings include
- Welding a fitting to the pipe means it is permanently leak proof.
- The continuous metal structure formed between pipe and fitting adds strength to the system
- Smoother inner surface and gradual direction changes reduce the pressure losses and turbulence and minimises the action of corrosion and abrasion
- A welded system utilises a minimum of space.
